Hello,
My son was recently sent to WASCO State Prison in California, he is a first time offender. I just received a letter from him today and he is asking me to see if I can talk to someone about getting his points lowered so that he will be classified as a Level 1 instead of a Level 2. He said he is only about 3 of 4 points from being a Level 1. Does anyone know if it is possible to talk to someone about re-evaluating his point level or how he can get them to lower his points?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
God bless,
Mikeysmom
when he gets to where he is going , he will be assighned to a counsler CC1 then within ten days he go infront of the counslers with his counsler his counslers boss and they go over his points. they may do it then lower him to a level one and ship him off to another place , or just to a prison witha level one yard. tell him level 2 yards (( the one i was at solano 3 an 4 yard)) arnt bad i had level one points and still i was sent to a level 2. level 2 yards are full of lifers they mostlymind there own buisness and keep the peace on those level 2 yards. does he take meds? like anti depressants?? cause that will make what they call CCCMS. and if his points are level one points they make him a two. how much time is he doing??
Thank you for responding to my question. I actually contacted the Omnibudman at Wasco and she gave me a TON of information as to what will happen with my son. She did not give me the in depth details you gave as far as what actually happens with the counseling part. I am really worried about him because he is so young and has NEVER been in trouble before. This whole mess SUCKS big time!! I am dying to see him and we STILL have not been approved for visits and he has been there over a month now.
He was not taking any kind of meds when he went in so hopefully his still isn't but I would understand if he ended up having to go on anti depressants just for having to be there. He got 16 months and hopefully he will only do 8.
it took over a month for my family to get approved. If you do call them back let them know you will be visiting him often , so they dont ship him to far from home.hummmmm let me think, you can send him 40 stamped envelopes i think 500 sheets of paper and 10 photos and 10 greeting cards all in one package(manila envelope)..its nice to get those , he can write home or sell them for food. if its been over a month he should on his way soon...reception is not cool its the worst part of his trip caouse the heard ya cattle... hell be ok . and for god sakes dont watch msnbc"s lock-up. those are level 4 yards .
Well, that bit of information makes me feel better because I was actually watching that program on Friday and freaking myself out!! Prison life seems like it is CRAZY and now I am even more worried about my son but knowing that show is a Level 4 helps. We finally got approved for visits so I will be driving to see him as fast as I can so I can see how he is doing. Thanks again for your help. It means more than you know.
